There is ongoing research and clinical trials of various potential therapies for coeliac disease and several of these including oral enzyme therapy, immunisation and inhibitors of inflammation will be discussed.

Linear Clinical Research is a purpose built phase I clinical trials facility that conducts first-in-human through to phase II clinical trials. It was founded by the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR) and built through funds provided by the Western Australian Government.
Linear Clinical Research has experience in conducting clinical trials in healthy volunteers and specific patient groups for both local and international clients in a range of therapeutic areas. One such area currently under investigation is Coeliac disease. We are conducting a study with the American Biotech company ImmusanT who are developing a vaccine for Coeliac disease. By isolating the peptides (shortened proteins) of the three types of gluten (wheat, barley and rye) they hope to produce a vaccine that increase sufferers tolerance to gluten.
